Jeff was born in Dublin, Georgia, but grew up in South Florida. He was raised in a Christian family and actively involved in church from an early age. The Lord saved him by age 9; however, throughout his teen years, sports consumed much of his life. He ran cross-country and track, played basketball and volleyball, water-skied, and more.
As a middle-aged man, Jeff looks back over his life and marvels at the truth captured in Philippians 1:6, that “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Jesus Christ.” Admittedly, Jeff knew little about the depths of his own sins or the richness of God’s mercy in Christ Jesus when God first saved him. He considers it a great privilege to have been given a heart alive to those truths as his ability to comprehend them grew.
Jeff married his high school sweetheart at age 21. Hands down, he punched above his weight securing Christy to be his bride. Grace upon grace. The Lord gave them two beautiful daughters (Alexis and Rachel) that he loves dearly. Through many dangers, toils, and snares, he wholeheartedly affirms that he is a great sinner, and Christ is a great Savior!
He still loves playing many sports (pickleball, volleyball, water-skiing, and running), but sports take a far backseat to his love for Jesus and his love for the people of God. He is humbled and grateful to serve as Immanuel’s Lead Community Discipleship Pastor and has served on staff in that position since 2007.
