Jonny Atkinson

Jonny, born and raised in Northern Ireland, moved to the US in 2010 and is still unsure whether Americans and Brits both speak English. He and his wife, Janaye, have been married since 2011 and have been members at Immanuel since 2010 (except for that one year they went to Fort Worth, TX—you can ask him later). The Lord has given them eight children, and most days Jonny can remember all their names and birthdays. Jonny completed his PhD in Old Testament at Southern Seminary in 2022 and has worked with global missions in a variety of roles since 2016.

At Immanuel, Jonny leads a GCG, serves in the pastoral apprenticeship, and co-leads a prayer room. He loves to teach God's life-giving Word to all peoples and all ages. Jonny enjoys watching rugby and football (a.k.a. soccer), reading books to his kids, having people in his home, and being outdoors.
